- Last Minute Prep? Read This First
Everyone plays the guessing game as to when on-cycle interviews will officially start… What we recommend at OfficeHours is to start your PREP EARLY! Assume that interviews will start this summer/early fall and the best way to get prepared is to start yesterday.
Let’s look to 2019 as a cautionary tale:
Most people thought recruiting would happen in October 2019 and mapped out their prep calendar accordingly.
Then on Thursday, September 12th, Thoma Bravo sent out interview lists around midnight and told candidates to come to their offices that Friday the 13th.
After getting wind of this, the rest of the megafunds scrambled to launch their interview processes that same day.
By September 15th, the majority of on-cycle offers had been given out and signed.
We recommend that most of our Mentees should complete our PE curriculum and get additional practice reps in on case studies and mock interviews thereafter…
If you feel like you’re a little behind, use a slow week (Some Mentees have even taken an entire week off) to grind through our prep modules before reaching out to Headhunters to introduce yourself... You don't want to be left out of the initial interview list because you weren't ready to speak with headhunters on time.
